Dorothy FlashMs. Flash’s career now spans over thirty years of working with people of all ages to enhance their lives in some way. At Mass Bay Counseling, she does counseling and psychotherapy using her experience and extensive study of multiple therapeutic approaches to adapt treatment to each client’s unique needs.

“Dodie” feels privileged to work with a very diverse group of clients who seek counseling for enormously varied reasons. Therapy is essentially a collaborative process between client and therapist, which respectful is clients’ particular values and goals. When getting to know clients, she finds it important to identify their strengths and capacities so that they can be utilized in addressing the challenges and problems confronting clients.

Her education includes a masters degree from Boston University School of Social Work, a doctorate from Simmons College School of Social Work, and numerous continuing education programs on various aspects of therapy and mental health, including child and adolescent therapy, pregnancy and parenting issues, attention deficit disorder, trauma treatment, and family therapy. Her experience has also helped her become familiar with the impacts of medical illness or disability and learning problems.

Away from the office Dodie enjoys painting, gardening, sailing and moderate exercise.
